This weblog is an information resource, established by Green Party activists, who wish to lower the New York City bus and subway fares, not raise them (as both Gov. Spitzer and the MTA wish to do). We welcome Green Party members, but we especially welcome non-Greens who want to know what they can do to stop the proposed fare hike from becoming a reality. Please return often to this website in the coming weeks to find out how we intend to put pressure on the MTA board (and the politicians) and show them that the people of New York will not accept another needless fare increase, and that all the stakeholders in the system — including the major corporations and New York State’s government — must pay their fair share.
